Mommy's Day ♥

Mother's day started with me sleeping in. I didn't even hear Arek and the kids get up. Then I was surprised with breakfast in bed and beautiful cards at 9am. Then I went back to sleep until almost noon! I haven't slept that long in a long time, usually I can't sleep in that late, but it felt great! After getting ready for the day the hubby and I took the kiddos for a walk. I got a beautiful mom cake from the hubby and kiddos. Then we headed over to the Pereda's for a bbq! The guys hung out outside while Melissa and I made shish kabob's. While they BBQ'ed we made heart cupcakes for the kiddos! It was a very relaxing afternoon with great company. The kids had a blast together as usual, they love playing together. After eating we talked, smoked hookah and went inside to play karaoke. Karaoke brought great laughs and good times. It was a lot of fun. Before we knew it it was 11:30pm! The kiddos had been passed out on the couch for an hour or two before we went home. They were worn out!

Night time routine!

So way back when Arek was deployed, I kind of got in the habit of co-sleeping with MaKenzie... not realizing how difficult it would make things later on. She was the perfect snuggler when daddy was gone, and it worked great for both of us. Ever since Arek got home last January we have tried breaking the habbit. It has been a long process! We went from her sleeping in our bed, to her trying to sleep in her room but only crying, to falling asleep on the couch, but some how ended back up in our bed, to falling asleep on the couch and being put in her bed when we go to bed... to finally going to bed all on her own! It's a huge step, may seem little to some BUT we couldn't be more proud of her. We know it was hard for her and I could only blame myself so we definitely wanted to handle the situation with care and not rush things. We are now in the routine of 7:30pm comes, brushing our teeth and tucking our munchkins in bed. It's a relief! We know she is four and should definitely be in her own bed rather than co sleeping. Makes us realize how big she is getting and how proud of her we are. Titan has always loved his own bed, but of course I learned from MaKenzie how to do things with Titan to make things easier for us all! MaKenzie did choose to sleep in Titan's room on her toddler bed rather than in her room in the nice twin size, but it's a big step for her! She goes to sleep with no problems, snuggles next to Titan, watches cartoons with him and goes to sleep!

Neighborhood Fun ♥

The kiddos always look forward to playing outside with their friends. They have made great friends with our neighbors across the street and really enjoy playing with them. They are always all riding their bikes, playing with chalk, riding the Dora jeep, etc. The weather is getting to be so nice that now they can enjoy the pool and sprinklers as well! One of our neighbors brought out a kiddy pool and Kenzie put out her Dora sprinkler. Titan isn't the biggest fan of water unless it is a bathtub... so I didn't expect for him to play in the water. He proved me wrong! The second we went outside, in his shoes, outfit and all he just walked right into the little pool and loved the water. He then asked for the Dora sprinkler and enjoyed that as well. MaKenzie of course had a blast and we definitely want to get a pool for them. We are sad that the base has an 18 inch pool limit because we would love to keep a pool in the backyard for them this summer. The outdoor pool on base should be opening soon though and they just installed a neat slide on it! We definitely are looking forward to that. We had a nice afternoon outside with the kiddos. Usually Titan is my bashful one who NEVER looks at the camera and smiles but I caught him off guard a few times and he gave me some great poses and smiles :]

Fun at the Carnival!

The kids knew the carnival was coming and they couldn't have been more excited about it. They love the rides and games at carnivals of course, so they were counting down the days. We wish the weather could have been nicer this weekend, it was chilly and windy all weekend! It didn't matter to the kids though, they had a blast! We bought tickets in advance and got a good deal. We knew they were going to want to ride all the rides. So we kind of just went in order and they rode everything they could. There was one that Titan didn't care for. The Dragon Rollercoaster. Since he went on one like it before we didnt think he would mind it. Well this one was faster. He went around the track once and started crying, thankfully they stopped it right away and he got off. MaKenzie and Daddy decided to ride it together though and loved it! It was priceless watching the kids get excited for each and every ride. We didn't care to play any games or ride the rides... it was the best just watching them! Arek did end up riding one of the rides with his friends though. I got some great pictures of it. It was something I would have never tried! haha. Of course we all had to share a funnel cake... mmm so good although definitely cheated on my calories! haha. Oh, the kids and Arek also had a good time dunking middle school cheerleaders. Even though it was windy and cold outside they still had the dunk a cheerleader going on. It was funny to watch and Arek dunked three different girls. They were good sports about it, it was fun. We had a great time at the fair and got some great pictures :) After every ride Kenzie would tell us about it and run to the next one, Titan would say FUN RIDE and run to the next one. They sure love carnivals :]

Military Child Appreciation Month

We didn't even know they had an appreciation month for Military Children. I was happy to see that they did though. I couldn't be more proud of our kids in general, but to go through some of the things military children have to go through its nice to appreciate them. They are so young and go through deployments, seperation when dad is at schools, missing daddy. It's tough on them at times but of course only makes them stronger. It was an event completely focused on children of all ages. Some of the things they had were pony rides, huge rock wall, fire trucks to explore, humvees to explore, face painting, balloons, mini games, tables of free stuff, a huge gym with dancing & fun, and great food!

MaKenzie took advantage of almost everything. She got her face painted like a bunny. She even ended up letting them spray her hair with orange and purple. She played in the gym and danced around, showed off with the hoola hoops and had a blast. Titan loved playing the mini games with Kenzie and was all for getting free stuff off the tables, but once an Elmo & McRuff Dog came in dressed up... he wasn't having it. He stood by mommy and daddys side or in our arms. Once we got back outside he was good. We ate and then saw the pre-k and toddler classrooms were open. The event was held at the new child development center. So we took advantage of it and went on a tour to show Kenzie & Titan around. MaKenzie absolutely loved her classroom. She thought it was so neat and got more excited about going to school, she of course loved the play ground area as well. The cubby holes were our favorite part. They have cute hooks for their backpacks that their name goes above and on top of the shelves is a picture of them with their families. We also met one of the two teachers. She was nice and MaKenzie loved her. We took Titan in the classroom next door for the toddller program. He loved it and kept saying "MINE?" My classroom. It was great. We think they both would love school. Neither one of them have been daycare so we were a little nervous. Once we walked through and talked to the teacher we all four got more excited. They will be starting in August for 3 hours (MaKenzie- Mon. through Fri. 1-4pm and Titan- M. W. & F. from 1-4).

After checking out the classrooms, the BMX show was starting. They had two professional BMXers out there. The kids clapped and cheered for them the whole time. Seeing some of the tricks even amazed Arek and I. Both of the guys did awesome, even though the wind picked up. We enjoyed the show, got some ballon hats & swords then headed home. It was a great afternoon. We love our little kiddos more than anything and are so proud of them in so many ways!!!!!

Easter Fun ♥

The kids made out good this year. Easter weekend was packed with lots of fun. Before Easter weekend we got baskets for the kids from the community center. They were made by retired vets. The kids loved them and couldn't have been more excited about Easter. On Friday night we went to our FRG Easter Party. They had great food annd great activities for the kids. We had an easter egg hunt which the kids did great on. As soon as they said go they sprinted off and found a good amount of eggs. We knew MaKenzie would know what to do right away but I wasn't sure how Titan would do, but he grabbed his basket. He ran and picked up all the eggs he could. It was so cute to watch them both. After they did the egg hunt, they colored pictures, and drew with chalk. We had a good time and the kids both got nice goodie bags on our way out.

Then on Saturday we attended the community center Eggstraveganza. There were so many people I didn't think the kids were going to get any eggs. Thankfully they split the kids up in age groups and limited everyone to three eggs each. Once everyone had three eggs each they let the kids go out for the rest. So they still ended up with a good amount of eggs. They also had coloring, a jump house, and a three legged bunny hop race. Kenzie and I competed in the bunny hop. It was fun and we got cute bunny ears out of it ;). After our Eggstraveganza party we spent the rest of the afternoon on the Lake and rented a little boat. The kids loved it and were very excited about it. Saturday night we dyed and colored easter eggs. Suprisingly the kids did not make a mess and did a great job. They both used their egg holders and dipped their own eggs in dye. Kenzie and I made 18 eggs and daddy and Titan made 18 eggs. We had a lot of fun and the kids loved it.

Sunday morning daddy had to go to work at 4am. So we had to celebrate Easter in the afternoon. He was home by 1pm. He took the kids outside and told him he heard that the Easter bunny was some where in our neighborhood. So they played outside, well I "looked for my cell phone and shoes" aka played easter bunny! Then we took the kids to the park and when we came home we were surprised with easter eggs every where. The kids ran around the dining room, kitchen, living room and hall way finding all kinds of eggs. Then their was a trail in the hallway pointing toward the guest room. The kids opened the guest room door and found two easter baskets! Their faces were priceless. They were so surprised and so happy. We spent the rest of the afternoon checking out all their goodies, playing with their new chalk, blowing bubbles and playing with their new toys. We had a great afternoon!

I love Holidays and love spoiling our kiddos. They are so precious and adorable. We are truley blessed with two great kids. We couldn't ask for more!!!!

Kylee Jo Brock ♥

So on March 31st... Arek, the Kids and I headed to the Sierra Vista Animal Shelter. We knew we wanted another puppy, but we were leaning towards a small dog. We went there at a time where they only had one small dog & she had already been adopted. So we still went to the large dog area and fed all the dogs a snack like we usually do. Well Arek went straight to this German Shepherd. She was beautiful and of course he wanted to take her home right then and there. Even though I was hoping for a small breed.. I couldn't deny how pretty and sweet she was. We knew right away she would make a great companion for Kera too. So we took her out of the kennel and took her for a walk. She was well behaved & even listened to commands such as, sit, shake, lay down. So the next test was how she was with the kids. She loved the kids, gave kisses, let them snuggle with her, pull on her.. everything kids do. She didn't care at all. She won over our hearts right away.

They had found her on the street so she still had to get her shots, fixed, and microchipped. We adopted her that day. We weren't able to pick her up until Friday night. She had to see the Vet all day Friday. They did an exam on her. Everything looks good. She is a little under weight but we can fix that :) She is about two years old. They did not know her name so we got to name her. I wanted a name that would go with Kera. So I thought Kylee was perfect & I loved the name. Then Arek though of her middle name Jo. Kylee Jo Brock. It's perfect! I call her Kylee, or Ky Ky and Arek calls her JoJo... the kids call her Kylee most of the time.

We picked her up Friday night. She was still out of it from her surgery. She just wanted to snuggle and sleep. We introduced her to Kera when we got home. We thought Kera would be too hyper and excited but she did great. She took it easy with Kylee and just sniffed her out. They laid together and it was a good meeting. The kids were so happy to have her home & are in love with both dogs. Even though Kylee has to take it easy the next two weeks, her and Kera are getting along great. Once Kylee is healed I am sure they will have a blast playing together and we can't wait to take them both to the Lake!

They are both perfect dogs to protect our house. They are great with the kids and each other. We are lucky to have found Kylee and adopted her. Arek and I love her... although I have claimed her as my dog :) She is a sweet heart! A perfect addition to our family ♥
