2011 Human Freedom Flag ♥

Ten years ago on September 11, 2001 I remember where I was and how I felt like it was yesterday. I remember my grandpa calling my mom and telling her to turn on the news. I was home watching the news with my mom and sisters. I can't describe the pain I felt watching it or how scared I was that with Las Vegas being a huge city that we might be a target. My Grandma worked at Bally's. I didn't want anything to happen to anyone I knew or cared about or for anymore innocent Americans to die at all. The whole situation was heartbreaking. I honestly remember sitting in my room, in my closet.. writing in my diary and praying to god that everything would be okay.

Now here we are ten years later. I am married to an American Hero and got to celebrate the Anniversary of a devastating day with my beautiful family creating a Human Flag with our community. We all five wore red to the event. We were in the second red stripe from the bottom and loved being a part of such a neat event. The morning started off with a cool breeze but as it approached noon it became hot. By the time we all got home we were exhausted and a little burnt. It was a lot of fun though. The flag turned out awesome.

I am very proud to be an American and very proud to be married to my hero who fights for this country ♥

MP Ball ♥ 2011

We did not plan on going to the ball this year since we had noone here to watch the kids and I was not going to let some stranger watch Liam at just two months old. After the SGM insisted we go and that we could bring Liam with us we decided to go. I was kind of excited to see how Titan would do in a daycare setting with MaKenzie there by his side to show him that it will be okay. However, I did wish that I could bring all three of them with me. Shopping for a dress, I have to admit I was a little nervous. I still am insecure after having Liam so I wasn't even sure what size I was or how dresses would look on me. Another reason why I wasn't sure I wanted to go. Hubby took me dress shopping and encouraged me to try on dresses. After trying on a couple dresses I settled on a form fitting dress and was actually pleased. I am finally getting back into shape with over 30lbs lost and less than 15 to go!

The night began with dropping the big kids off at child care. It was a day care/pre-school setting so I was excited to see how Titan would do since he has never been! I was happy MaKenzie was there to protect him, comfort him and show him that it was going to be okay. After that we headed to the ball. It was a nice relaxing few hours with hubby and our baby boy. Liam was definitely the center of attention the whole night. Dinner was great, well for the most part! Rosemary Chicken kind of tastes like plant but thankfully Arek got Prime Rib instead and shared. I really only cared for the salad and rolls though :) After dinner was the cake cutting ceremony. Arek cut the cake with HERE. Then they did raffles and the formal part was over.

We really were enjoying ourselves but by this time it had been three hours and we were missing our big girl and little man! So we headed to the Child Care center to pick them up. Titan had just fallen asleep when we got there so when we woke him up he was a little upset. He said he loved it minus the laying down part. Him and MaKenzie painted us a picture and drew us a picture.We loved hearing about their night and glad they both did so well!

1st Grade Parent Teacher Conference!

We had our parent teacher conference on Friday. The first few weeks of school they had a bunch of assessment tests to see where they are at for first grade. Of course I was nervous to see how MaKenzie did. I am proud of how well she did in Kindergarten going in early and the youngest in her class. Now onto first grade I knew it would be a little harder and wasn't sure where she was at. Miss Kennedy went through all of her assessment tests one by one with us. Every single test she was one of the top 4 in the class. She did great on everything and I couldn't be more proud of her. She begins some 2nd grade material at the end of the 1st quarter. Hearing that even though she started school early she was still doing this well made me so proud. She is one smart little girl and I am excited to see how much she grows and learns this year! She has got 100% on all of her spelling tests so far and that is the first thing Miss Kennedy is adding, 2nd grade spelling words.. she said she does not want MaKenzie to get bored and after her first grade spelling assessment test and MaKenzie knowing 98 of the 100 words she is going to add in some harder ones for her and the other three kids on her level. They will also be starting 2nd grade reading group so they can focus on harder books, again so she doesn't get bored. This was a very proud moment for us as parents :)
